Regal Entertainment Group (REG) is a chain of movie theaters that is located throughout the United States and its territories. Founded in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1989 Regal Cinemas gained immediate attention because of the large size of its theaters, upscale look, and premium cafes. Using an aggressive marketing campaign, the theaters gained popularity that led to a huge expansion throughout the 1990s. The Regal Cinema price for concession items has remained competitive and over the years and is in line with prices charged by most other large movie theaters. Each location offers standard movie theater items including comparable soft drink and popcorn prices. Certain, larger, locations also offer featured snacks such as nachos, cinnabon bites, and hot dog sliders. These snacks cost between $5.00 and $6.50 each with less expensive ($3.50) candy available as well. Regal Cinema popcorn prices start at $6.25 for small and go up from there. Currently Regal ticket prices vary based on the time of day one is attending the movie. Regal ticket prices for matinee movies start at $6.50 for children and $7.50 for adults. During regular or evening hours the rate for children between the ages of 2 and 12 is $9.00 while adults are charged $11.00 per ticket. Movies seen in 3D or IMAX cost an additional $3.50 and $6.50 per ticket. There are additional discounts offered on the Regal ticket cost if you are a member of the military with a valid ID, a student, or a senior citizen.

Regal Cinemas ticket cost is periodically reduced as part of various promotions especially during the summer with inexpensive movies are shown for children once a week.
